I know the title of this blog post is a bold statement. It probably sounds kind of weird in the beginning. But, moreover, I guess the first thing that comes to your mind is something like: What the heck has Facebook to do with a business intelligence (BI) dashboard?

I genuinely believe that we have to change the way we discuss airline operation information and KPIs. We have to move from purely content-based to a “getting-the-attention” discussion.
Good decisions are based on knowledge rather than numbers. Plato, one of the great Greek philosophers made this statement almost 2,500 years ago. Actually, this is a great and wise statement. And probably a quote that perfectly describes why I think that data – in its rawest form – is useless.
