In September, Vueling operated 15,630 flights. As a result, the Spanish low-cost airline reduced its schedule by 14% compared to August. However, Vueling remains one of Europes biggest airlines by flight volume.


On-Time Performance

In September, Vueling continued to deliver an exceptional on-time performance. With a punctuality of 95%, Vueling was one of Europe's most punctual airlines. Compared to August, Vueling on-time performance slightly decreased by 0.3pp. However, the airline is perfectly inline with its annual average on-time performance.


Schedule Reliability

Similar to its punctuality, Vueling maintained a fantastic schedule reliability in September. With only 0.2% canceled flights, Vueling can be seen as one of Europe's most reliable airlines. Compared to August, Vueling's schedule reliability slightly decreased by 0.1pp.


Flight Volume — 6 Months History

After massive growth since March, Vueling reduced its flight volume by 2,500 flights in September. Accordingly, the volume is similar to the level in July. The reduction is mainly linked to the end of the holiday season and was similar in previous years.

Punctuality counts all flights that arrive on time at their destination airport and puts them into relation to the overall operated number of flights. On-time in this context is defined as +15/-15 compared to the scheduled arrival time. We consider an on-time performance above 90% as good (green), from 80%-90% as ok (orange), and below 80% as weak (red).
Flight Schedule Reliability (Reliability): Schedule reliability counts the number of actually performed flights concerning scheduled flights. In other words, the percentage of flights that an airline didn’t cancel. We consider schedule reliability above 95% as good (green), from 90%-95% as ok (orange), and below 90% as weak (red).
