In September, easyJet operated 32,432 flights. Compared to August, the U.K.-based budget carrier reduced its flight volume by more than 10%. However, easyJet remains Europe's third-biggest airline by flight volume — right after Ryanair and Turkish Airlines.

On-Time Performance

In September, easyJet achieved a solid punctuality level of 88.7%. However, compared to the previous month, easyJet's on-time performance dipped by 2.5pp. Nevertheless, when looking at easyJet's annual average in 2021, September seemed to be pretty much in line.

Schedule Reliability

Once again, easyJet achieved fantastic schedule reliability. During the entire month, easyJet had to cancel only 14 flights. As a result, easyJet achieved schedule reliability of 99.7%. However, compared to August, easyJet's reliability slightly dipped by 0.3pp.

Flight Volume — 6 Months History

For the first time in 2021, easyJet reduced its flight volume in September. However, this is likely due to the end of the summer/holiday season. Moreover, easyJet's volume is still above the July volume. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how easyJet will perform in October.

Punctuality counts all flights that arrive on time at their destination airport and puts them into relation to the overall operated number of flights. On-time in this context is defined as +15/-15 compared to the scheduled arrival time. We consider an on-time performance above 90% as good (green), from 80%-90% as ok (orange), and below 80% as weak (red).
Flight Schedule Reliability (Reliability): Schedule reliability counts the number of actually performed flights concerning scheduled flights. In other words, the percentage of flights that an airline didn’t cancel. We consider schedule reliability above 95% as good (green), from 90%-95% as ok (orange), and below 90% as weak (red).
