On-Time Performance

Besides fewer flights, Air France also fell below the 90% punctuality level in September again. After achieving a solid on-time performance of 91% in August, Air France dropped by almost 4pp to 87.9%. However, the result is still better than Air France's annual average.

Schedule Reliability

Air France achieved a solid flight schedule reliability in September. With 114 cancellations, Air France completed the months with 99.4% reliability. Although the result is slightly lower than August's, it is still way above Air France's annual average.

Flight Volume — 6 Months History

In September, Air France continued its downtrend, which was initiated in August. It is arguably as if the lower flight volume is solely related to the end of the summer and holiday season. Right now, Air France is almost back to its May volume level. Therefore, it will be interesting how October plays out.

Punctuality counts all flights that arrive on time at their destination airport and puts them into relation to the overall operated number of flights. On-time in this context is defined as +15/-15 compared to the scheduled arrival time. We consider an on-time performance above 90% as good (green), from 80%-90% as ok (orange), and below 80% as weak (red).
Flight Schedule Reliability (Reliability): Schedule reliability counts the number of actually performed flights concerning scheduled flights. In other words, the percentage of flights that an airline didn’t cancel. We consider schedule reliability above 95% as good (green), from 90%-95% as ok (orange), and below 90% as weak (red).
