Which airlines are included?
The ranking includes 288 airlines that provide data to OAG. Moreover, we only included airlines that performed more than 1,000 flights in July.
How do you define punctuality?
For this ranking, we’ve looked at arrival punctuality. Therefore, all flights that arrive 15+ minutes late at their destinations are counted as unpunctual.

World’s Top 20 Most Punctual Airlines
The award for the most punctual airline in September 2021 goes to Eurowings. As a result, Eurowings wins this prestigious trophy for the second time in a row. And even more impressive: Based on the data, Eurowings achieved an on-time performance of 99.8% — a fantastic result. Out of almost 10,000 flights Eurowings operated in September, only ~20 didn’t arrive on time!!

No North American Airline on the ranking — again
The list of the world’s most punctual airlines is —again— mainly dominated by European and Asian airlines. There’s not a single North American carrier that made it into the top 20.
Japanese Airlines Dominate
Eight out of the world’s 20 most punctual airlines are based in Japan. That’s definitely an impressive result.

However, the global benchmark includes all tracked flights. On average, 250 airlines are included in each month’s analysis. Whenever stated, EMEA refers to airlines based in Europe, the Middle East, or Africa.
